Hello Topeka Tigers!
This is Principal Stevens, with an important message for our families. To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Los Angeles Unified has now extended school closures through May 1.
To ensure that all students have access to online lessons and opportunities to continue their learning, we will provide devices and internet access information to students who do not already have them and who are MOST IN NEED. Devices are limited because we do not have enough for each of our 600 students (we are not a one to one school). Calls will be made this week for device pick-up appointments scheduled for this Friday, March 27, 2020.
If your child does not have a device and you have not been in touch with the teacher about expressing your need, please reach out by Wednesday, March 25, 2020. Again, because Topeka does not have enough devices for EVERY student (we are not a one-to-one school), we will prioritize distribution to those students MOST in need.
I also want to remind you about the Grab & Go Food Centers where you can get two meals per person to help feed your family. The list of sites is at lausd.net, along with other resources. We are committed to our students and their education and will providing you with frequent updates in the days and weeks to come. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Blessings to you all, and please be safe.
-Mrs. J. Stevens
