Monday Minute – September 2, 2019

Good evening. This is Mrs. Stevens, with this week’s Monday Minute.

Throughout the year, we want you to stay informed about school activities.

Tiger Community Assembly- Wednesday, September 4, 2019 @ 8:00AM

Parents, want to experience a school assembly with your child?  Well, please join us on Wednesday for our Tiger Community School Assembly near the lunch pavilion, at 8:00AM.  Come hear about our Tiger Trot and other upcoming school events.

Hoop Fest Dancers Auditions- Wednesday, September 4th at 12:30 in Auditorium

Students in grades 3, 4, and 5, if you are interested in becoming a Hoop Fest Dancer for this year’s big game, auditions will be held on Wednesday, September 4th at 12:30PM in the auditorium- during your lunch time.  Please bring a signed permission slip with you to the audition. Permission slips will be sent home tomorrow, Tuesday, September 3rd.

PTA Family Movie Night @ 6:00PM – Detective Pikachu

Families, join us this Friday at 6:00PM for our PTA Family Movie Night.  Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and comfy clothes.  The featured film is Detective Pikachu.  The movie will start at sundown.  For the safety of everyone, parents MUST accompany their own child(ren), and any older siblings must remain with parents as well.  Concessions will be available.

Parents, we also want to inform you of volunteer opportunities directly in your child’s classroom.  Each classroom teacher is looking for volunteers to act as Room Parents for this year.  The duties of this role vary from teacher to teacher. Please check your child’s folder, to submit your form or you may print the form from the E-Backpack.

PTA- 5th Grade Committee- Mixed Bags Sale 9-3 thru 9/16

Fifth grade will begin their fund raising this year with the Mixed Bags sale, where 40% of the sales will go toward the special 5th grade activities planned for the school year.  Take a look at the display in the main office and see our 5th grade committee for more details.

Again- Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our  Tiger Trot on Friday, September 20th

Our School-wide Behavior Focus continues to be on our 4 Bes- Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful and Be Clean!  As a part of Being Safe, LAPSD Officer Steinberg, wants me to warn parents that the drop off in front of the school on Topeka drive is for our visually impaired and bused students only.  He has recorded a few cars violating this and asks that parents model following traffic laws for our students.

That’s it for this week’s news from school.  Have a tigerrific evening.
