Sunday Minute – October 20, 2019

Good evening. This is Mrs. Stevens, with this week’s Sunday Minute.

Tiger Trot Update- Extra Recess Tuesday, October 22nd

As promised all students who fundraised at the $100 and $200 level, will enjoy an extra 20 minutes of recess on Tuesday, October 22nd. Teachers will receive a list of names of students to be released for the additional recess time.

Pedestrian & Traffic Safety

Parents, I am asking you to please consider safety over convenience when crossing the street and driving around our school.  Please cross at the crosswalks, drive the speed limits, stop at the stop signs, and do not make illegal U-turns.  Let’s show our students that their safety is more important than convenience.

Kinder Tour 10/24 @ 8:15AM in Library

This Thursday  @ 8:15AM, in the library, we will host a Kinder Tour for our perspective families.  Please share this information with the community.  Because the tour takes place during instructional time, it is an ADULTS/PARENTS only tour, no children please.

Our annual Fall Festival is this Friday, October 25th starting at 5:00PM!  Topeka students, families, and friends are invited to wear your costumes and trick or treat while enjoying carnival type games and creatively decorated pop-up tents!  I heard the best decorated tent will win a great prize for their classroom(s). Please see the e-Backpack for more details.

PTA 5th Grade Boo Grams sold this week pending District Approval

SWPBIS- Cyber Safety-Social Media Monitoring

Parents, please be reminded that the legal age for social media apps, is 13.  Because cyber activity, especially behavior crossing the lines of bullying, is something that can involve law enforcement, I want to encourage parents, especially 5th grade parents to please monitor your child’s activity.

That’s it for this week’s news from school.  Have a tigerrific evening.
