Canned Good Drive 11/4-11/8

We are blessed with so many things.  Let’s remember to spread the love. Our yearly canned good drive is this week.  Please send your NON-expired donated canned goods to school, in order to bless another family this month.

Treats for the Troops 11/4-11/7

Speaking of spreading the blessings, feel free to bring your leftover candy to school and place it in the box labeled ‘For the Troops’, located in the main office.  The box will be there until Thursday, November 7th.

School Experience Survey Begins 10/28

Parents and students, your feedback about your experience at Topeka is important to us.  The School Experience Survey began Monday, October 28th.  The oldest student in the house brought home instructions on how to complete the survey.  Please remember to fill out the paper survey or for your convenience, you can take the survey online at  achieve.lausd.net/schoolexperiencesurvey and input the 10-digit parent code found on the top right corner of the parent letter.

Make-up Picture Day 11/8/19

If you didn’t get a chance to take your Fall school picture, no worries.  Make-up picture day is this Friday.  Come dressed in your best.

SWPBIS- SAFETY

LASPD wants me to warn parents, that the area on Topeka drive, by the auditorium is NOT a drop-off zone.  It is signed and designated for buses and the safe arrival of our visually impaired students.  LASPD will be watching and confronting those who disregard the traffic laws.

PTA 5th Grade Sponsored Jamba Juice Discount Card Sale 11/4-11/8

Fifth grade is sponsoring a Jamba Juice Discount Card sale.  Presale will be 11/4-11/8.  Order forms were passed out to students last week, and some are available in the office.

Cell phone use in after school YS program

Parents, for your child’s cyber safety and due to an increase of students inappropriately texting after school, all children staying in the YS after school program will be asked to maintain the same phone use rules as implemented during instructional time while on campus. Students will not be permitted to watch videos, text, play games, etc. Phones will need to be safely put away.  When retrieving your children, please physically come on to campus and make contact with the afterschool coach, when picking up your children.

That’s it for this week’s news from school.  Have a tigerrific evening.
