Sunday Minute – December 1, 2019

Sunday Minute – December 1, 2019

Good evening. This is Mrs. Stevens, with this week’s Sunday Minute.

I hope you all had a restful Thanksgiving break.  It’s a blessing to have some time set aside to consider the many things for which we are grateful.  I pray that we can be a school community that has a habit of grateful thinking, acts of service, and perfecting a culture of care.

Scholastic Book Fair

Speaking of being grateful- thank you so much, Topeka families for supporting the Scholastic Book Fair!  It was a great success!  Many thanks for the selfless sacrifice of Mrs. Marissa Croft and her team of volunteers.

School Experience Survey Due 12/6

Parents, your feedback about your experience at Topeka is important to us. I want to encourage you to PLEASE complete the School Experience Survey. You will need the 10-digit parent code found on the top right corner of the parent letter- sent home with the oldest student in your family.  For your convenience, you can take the survey online at  achieve.lausd.net/schoolexperiencesurvey.

SWPBIS- Caring

Part of our school’s vision is to be a community that creates a culture of care.  I want to challenge and encourage every one of us to look for ways to care for someone else. Yes, even those who you believe don’t really care about you.  If we all focus on caring for others, then everyone gets a little bit of care each day!

That’s it for this week’s news from school.  Have a tigerrific evening.
