Sunday Minute – March 8, 2020

Good evening, families! This is Mrs. Stevens, with this week’s Sunday Minute.

This month is Charitable campaign month.  Please be on the look out for donation information in the e-backpack and envelopes that were sent home with your children for those who wish to participate.  Contact Mrs. Tuffield for more details.

Join us Thursday, March 12th for our Student Success Awards Assemblies

2nd -3rd – 8:20AM

Pre/TK-1st – 8:55AM

4th-5th- 9:30AM

Mark your calendars- Thursday, March 19th  at 8:30am we will have a parent workshop that is for sure worth taking the time from work (approx.. 1 hour 15 minutes).  At this workshop one of our School Mental Health Professionals will be presenting ways to address your child’s social emotional needs.  Sometimes first aid isn’t a bandage, sometimes the first aid is you; how you look, listen and link your child to helpful strategies and resources for their success in the world.

School Health Precautions

The safety, health and well-being of our students and staff remain our high priority. The following precautionary measures have been implemented in addition to ongoing standard daily cleaning procedures: 1) restroom fixtures sanitized twice each day and 2) high touch areas, such as doorknobs, stair rails and playground equipment sanitized daily.

In addition, we can all do our part in keeping our school a healthy environment.  Please remind your children to wash their hands often, cough and sneeze into the bend of their elbows, and keep their hands from their face and mouth.  Finally parents, if your child has a fever (anything above the standard 98.6) please keep them home from school for at least 24 hours after the fever breaks.  Thank you in advance.

Help your family create healthy digital habits.

Would you leave your child in a packed colosseum with absolute strangers and no one to supervise or protect him/her?  Absolutely not, right? However, without very intentional and overt supervision of what your child is doing on apps like Tik Tok, music.ly, snap chat, etc. that is essentially what is happening.  Those apps open our children up to a world of strangers we would normally never allow them to encounter.  Apps like the Family Link help you set digital ground rules as you supervise your child online. That’s it for this week’s news from school.  Have a tigerrific evening.
