Sunday Minute – May 10, 2020

Good evening, families! This is Mrs. Stevens, with this week’s Sunday Minute.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our mothers!  Thank you for being you!  I hope you are being celebrated and appreciated!

I want to let all of you know that our Topeka team has been thinking of you all and missing you very much.  Please check out our #TopekaStrong video made just for you.  You can locate it on the Tiger Tales portion of our website or use the link on the email version of this message.

Intentions for 2020-2021 School Year

We are beginning to plan for next year.  If you are NOT planning to return to Topeka, please complete the form, in the email version of this message, as soon as possible or at least by Tuesday, May 12, 2020.

This form does not apply to culminating 5th graders.

As you know, the Superintendent has announced that we will not be returning to our campus before June 12th.  In efforts to return your children’s items, the teachers will collect and bag all items.  Those items will sit untouched for two days.  We have  scheduled our team, which includes many of your teachers, to be available to distribute your child’s belongings, in a drive up/grab and go service model.  This service will be provided on Topeka drive, outside of the auditorium.  In order to adhere to the Social Distancing orders, please do not get out of your cars.  A team member will approach your car at a safe distance to inquire the name of your child(ren) and will then retrieve the items.  Our team will be wearing masks and gloves as recommended and will be practicing all safe hygiene requirements.

In order to plan ahead our tentative dates for student item pick up, are as follows.

2nd grade --Tuesday, May 12th, 9:00am-11:00am

1st grade---- Wednesday, May 13th, 11:00am-1:00pm

Preschool and 3rd Grade --Thursday, May 14th, 11:00am-1:00pm

4th and 5th grade --Monday, May 18th, 9:00am-11:00am

Due to  packing schedules and time for the belongs to sit for at least 48 hours, we will only distribute items for the grade levels scheduled and/or ready that day.

Finally,  in our efforts to stay connected, please don’t be surprised if you receive a call from one of our Teacher Assistants throughout the week.

That’s it for this week’s news from school, have a tigerrific evening.
