Good evening, families. This is Principal Stevens, with this week’s Sunday Minute.


Returning IN-PERSON

Families, I am happy to share that this fall we will return full-time and in-person for instruction.  I will share current information at a school townhall webinar, this Friday at 9:00am.  Please use the link in the email version of this message to register.

Baseline Testing

Baseline and ongoing weekly COVID-19 testing of employees and students for whom the District does not have a record of vaccination is a requirement for return to District facilities and in-person work and learning.  Our Topeka Tigers returning to campus must have their baseline test completed within 2 weeks of the first day of school.  Northridge Middle school is our closest District testing site.  I would suggest scheduling a COVID test between August 3rd and August 12th in order to give the testing facility enough time to acquire the results and get them back to you.  The District will continue to offer the PCR nasal swab tests as the primary testing method; additionally, a saliva test is available upon request.


Online/Virtual Only Option Available

For those families who wish to remain virtual, you can still do so.  Please make the time to register and apply for the online program in the Parent Portal or by visiting  The deadline is Friday, July 30, 2021.  If you are at Topeka via the lottery, and wish to remain virtual, you still maintain your lottery spot at Topeka.  You do not lose your spot this year.  Again, please be reminded that the deadline to register and apply for the online program is Friday, July 30, 2021


Virtual Orientation- Thursday, August 12th 9:00am & 12:30pm

Please mark your calendars to join us for a virtual school orientation with Q&A on Thursday, August 12, 2021.  There will be two sessions – 9:00am and 12:30pm. Please see the emailed version of this message for the log-in information.
